I'm a huge fan of the Suikoden series. A few days ago I was playing and triggered the Tinto ending for Suikoden II. I've never had a game make me feel that way. I can't even explain it. The ending itself was something you never see in a game, you might not even know it existed in Suikoden II, and therefor it made a huge impact. For the first time ever I was actually able to understand how Nanami felt. It just hits you with a bunch of different things. Guilt for abandoning your people/friends especially after all they've sacrificed, Despair that perhaps you can't escape your destiny, The desperate desire to escape and live in peace when the world around you won't allow it to happen. And of course the negative effects the runes were having on Roui/Jowy, so Nanami has to carry him away. Then you're party going back to fight with Shu, their disappointment in you. No matter what choices Roui/Jowy/Nanami make along their journey there is just going to be so much pain for them to deal with. For that reason it is my favorite ending so far. Sure you miss a huge part of the game if you stop there, but it's worth seeing it at least once, even if it leaves you pretty depressed. I couldn't even play the rest of the game for a few hours, it just didn't feel right. I made my choice and there was no going back.
