I have to say I'm incredibly interested in finding out how to make the ISOs the kind folk here post. I've been reading for a little bit on how to do it. But everyone seems to give different advice. Does anyone have an helpful tips for a first timer? Stuff that may not even be related to the process but would be helpful to know as well? Correct terminology, etc?

are you thinking about a system in particular? By experience I can say that Alcohol 120% works very well for the PsOne; simply use the image maker and set the read speed moderately slow. A lot of people use CloneCD, I heard it works very well.

The best i've seen is imgburn, besides being freeware, it can burn pretty much anything as well as rip pretty much everything, in the case of ps1 games however, it's highly suggested you rip in bin/cue format, as iso format can delete sound tracks if your not careful(a very few ps1 games have track on the discs instead of in the iso itself, this can be deleted if not carefu, only ps1 and before have this problem though), basically, ripping in iso format comes with a risk when ps1, saturn and sega cd come into play.

I've tried Isobuster, Imgburn, and Alchohol 120. I kept thinking I was messing up, but when I tried playing it off the disk it displayed the same way. I get the KOEI logo and intro video to play well. But then the game doesn't display. I know the menus are there because then I click on something they just show up as red rectangles, everything else is black. Gonna try another game right now. I'll see if the problem was the game or on my end. n1ghtwalff: I tried Alcohol but it only had mds and .cdd as option for the PlayStation format.

Actualy both of those formats work with PS emulators. Though I belive with mds you have to host it using a virtual drive before it's useable. Though you should be able to do other formats, just don't know how. Af for the screen problem. Do what tatsuya said and set the speed as low as possible. Though if you're running it on an actual PS then make sure yours is modded otherwise it wont play back ups.

what game and emulator did you try? It seems like an emulator problem to me, especially if you say it does the same thing when reading from the disc. As for the format, they are the only ones I have as well... I use ccd and it always worked fine. I also use alcohol to burn discs for my modded ps1 and that works too.

Yeah I've spent the last two days reading and testing. Never get past the logos and intro movies regardless of the format. I've tried a couple of games. I also figured it was my emulator. However games I've downloaded from Tatsuya work perfectly. I've tried other emulators besides ePSXe but I had a hard time getting them set up.
I am actually looking for a good host so I can upload them. Hopefully someone will do me the favor of trying to see if they work for them. I'm not one to give up easy when I'm interested in something. However it would be nice to figure out what I'm doing wrong, or at least eliminate some potential problems.

So none of your own games work? Only Tatsuya's? I'd be happy to download one to test it out from my end, but are you sure your cds work to begin with? Are they original cds? I've read somewhere that you might have problems when you rip a burned psx game, but I haven't had that problem yet. Maybe someone else can confirm this?
As for the host, I recommend Megaupload; I find they are reliable and download speed is decent.
Also, if you upload a game I recommend you upload one that's not already posted here... it takes a while to upload, so this way if it works you could post the links here, so everybody wins!

Yeah I'm only uploading ones not posted already. All my games are original and they work on my PlayStation 2. It takes my about 11 hours to upload a larger game. I have a terrible upload speed. However my connection was interrupted while I was sleeping so.... I'm upping a much much smaller game right now, so it won't take very long. Once I get everything working perfectly I'll head over to my brothers house to upload the rest. Anyway, I want to thank you guys for being so helpful and patient with me.
